01 Dec. 2026 Chrome & Carols 2026 Dec. 01, 2026 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Altrusans are asked to sell raffle tickets at Chrome and Carols, a fundraiser for United Way. This is a very fun event! Volunteers report to the Mayborn Center at 5:00 pm for instructions, with the doors opening at 5:30. Dinner is included.
07 Dec. 2026 The Porter Family House Work Day - Habitat House Dec. 07, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Hello Fellow Altrusans! The house has a few more things to be completed and signed off on prior to us coming in and working our magic! Brenda Hill and I have the privilege of charing this fabulous project for the Porter Family. Thank you for approving this! We were able to walk the house and property yesterday to get a game plan for helping this house feel like a home prior to the family being presented with the keys on December 10th. We are invited to the welcome home party, and more details will be coming. Many hands make light work! We need assistance on Monday, December 7th to move in all the soft items for the beds and baths as well as stocking the kitchen. We will also be adding a few decorative items to each space as the budget allows. Please text Brenda or Julie if you plan on coming after 12pm, because, as you are probably aware, we tend to finish projects efficiently - don't want you to waste a trip. Thank you in advance for supporting such a great project! Please remember that the family has no idea that we are this close to completion. Please do not share anything on social media until we get the "all-clear" to do so. They have been approved and waiting for 6 years! Julie Ruiz
