2019-2020 Distinguished Club

Temple is awarded 2019-2020 Distinguished Club

Thank you Immediate Past President, Carol White, for conveying all the wonderful accomplishments of our club last year to the International Office.  Congratulations on a job well done!  They no longer issue a patch but a pin that will be added to our banner.  Read more to see the full letter.
New Project

Temple Wildcat Mentors (Pen Pals) Needed

I'm excited that this is a project all of our members can be a part of right from home.  We are in need of members who can commit to writing to a TISD student once a week during the school year.  You will need to fill out a Temple ISD Wildcat Mentor Application
Please let Michelle DiGaetano or Donna Wright know if you are interested.
Project Needs

Amy's House Need

Susan Cory is collecting gently used books for the library at the Amy's House project.  Please bring to the meeting next week.

*NEW* 2020-2021 Fundraising Committee

Let's get creative!  Bring your ideas as we unite to raise funds for next year.  Sadly, the Taste of the Holidays will be postponed to November 2021 but, we will embrace change and make every effort to raise funds for projects and scholarships next year.  All of the members of the Taste committee have agreed to hold their positions for next November so we need the membership to step up and help with our re-designed efforts.  A new plan will be presented to the membership at the September business meeting.

Tuesday, September 1st at the Cultural Activities Center at 5:30pm.

This meeting will also be on Zoom

Community Awareness

We are beginning to work on projects to increase our communities awareness and knowledge about Altrusa. We want our family to grow from all ages! Please send us a small video about why YOU joined Altrusa. We would like to post this on our public page for others to see and tag and hopefully be inspired to join. Whether the inspiration comes from the camaraderie of the group or because of one another’s desire to volunteer, we want Altrusa’s name to be known!
Send the video to Ami Hooper at

"All of us, at some time or other, need help.  Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world.  That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors - in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver".  Fred Rogers
