Greetings my fellow Altrusans,
 
The busy season is upon us! There's so much going on and plenty of opportunities to get plugged in. So read through the newsletter, click through the events, and sign up to help with what interests you! If you have questions about anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or your sponsor to learn more about upcoming activities and opportunities! 
 
Upcoming Opportunities to Serve!
 1) We need lots of hand to help during our 2 Make a Difference Day Projects (Healing the Healing Garden and TLC for the Temple Literacy Council). Please sign up to attend on Saturday, October 22nd. 
 
2) We are collecting for the Fisher House this month to help provide essentials for families of service members in their home away from home. Altrusans are being asked to bring the following items to the October Business and Program meetings as you are able:
Paper Towels, paper plates/bowls/cups, Ziploc bags, trash bags (13 gal), Toilet Paper, Lysol Spray & wipes
3) 7 drivers are needed to deliver pre-k kits for Central Texas Housing Consortium project Tuesday afternoon following the business meeting. The sign-up can be accessed through the link listed below. 
 
Upcoming Events!
1) Update your calendar for the new Thriller Club social moved to Friday, October 28th  at 6:30 at the home of Pam Abernathy. (Costumes are encouraged)!
 
2) The District is hosting a Fall Leadership Conference on Saturday, November 12th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Duncanville from 10 am - 3 pm.  Anyone is welcome to attend who is interested in honing your leadership skills and networking with other Altrusans across the the state. Cost is only $60.
