Weekly Update--January 6, 2019
Hope to see everyone on Tuesday at our January Business Meeting. We have a project to present to the club, a new member to initiate and we will elect our nominating committee for the '19-'20 year (hard to believe we are half way thru this Altrusa year). We have so much more to do, so stay tuned!  Thru December, we have 4,469 hours from our members that have been logged at meetings-this includes Altrusa, Admin, and Community Hours (but not Taste and no project hours from Impact Reports. If you have not turned in a Impact Report (link below) from a project that you have chaired or co-chaired, can you please get these to Traci in the next few weeks. We will begin our year end reports before you know it.)
Below are the minutes from December mtg, the treasurer report and the Club & Fiscal Policies that the committee will present to the membership.
Quick recap of recommended changes:
Changes- Club Policies- section 10) change late fees to include District Nine amount
Changes-Fiscal Policies-section 5) added- 'any other fund raisers.  10) added--last 2 sentences concerning receipts from projects.  13) added--extend if needed the Form 990
See below for the 'Wear Blue Day'----we will take a picture on Tuesday to support the awareness of Human Trafficking.

Thanks for all you do for Altrusa & 'Serving through the Seasons'---
Hugs, Hope

Wear Blue Day- Human Trafficking Awareness
From Susan Cory-----and I really like this idea since we have done  projects and we are aware of this issue in our community---please wear Blue at our next meeting & we can participate in the Awareness Day for Human Trafficking.

Wear Blue Day for our mtg on January 8th & then post pics on January 11th.

Save the Date: January 11 is #WearBlueDay
Who: You and your friends, family, colleagues, and community.
What: #WearBlueDay is a one-day hashtag event to raise awareness of human trafficking. Take a photo of yourself and others wearing blue and post it on social media using #WearBlueDay.
When: All day Friday, January 11, 2019.
Where: On social media: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Why: Human trafficking happens year-round and #WearBlueDay creates a one-day flood of social media content to raise awareness of the crime.
Bingo at the Senior Center
A great time was had by all at the December Senior Bingo----and we will do this project again in February.  Look at all the prizes----thanks Kay and to all your helpers for this great project!
District Nine Conference- April 2019
Here is new information on District Conference in April---we will have a great time,  so plan on attending!  More to come, but want everyone to know the time & place so you can 'save the date and make your hotel reservation.

One more thing.....The Hotel Block for Conference in April 2019 is open.

Below is the link to the hotel to reserve your rooms.  Hotel is Courtyard and Towne Place Suites by Marriott in Grapevine.  Dates are April 26-28, 2019.  Room rates are $119.00.  If you are needing to reserve a handicap room, please do so with the hotel and then let myself and/or Mary Pearson know and we will make sure that the hotel puts a "hard" reserve on your room.  Please share this information with your club members now so they can start to make their reservations.
Here is the reservation link your guests can use to make online reservations:

Or, you call the hotel direct at 817.421.6121   Tell them you are with Altrusa District Nine and you should be all set!  We have 2 hotels connected and lots of conference space for our event!!!    Registration Forms for Conference will be out in January.
