Fundraising

Submit a name idea by Sunday 9/6 and we will vote on Tuesday at the Business meeting.

We had a wonderful meeting last night to discuss fundraising and what our efforts will look like this year.  All funds raised will be used for projects & scholarships next year. Here is what we came up with:

We need to select a name that incorporates Taste of the Holidays to keep consistency & to remain in line with our Club & Foundation fiscal policies.
Ideas submitted so far: Taste of the Holidays 2020 Style & Homestyle Taste of the Holidays.  Send me those submissions!

We will send out a mail campaign re-designed for donations to our past underwriters & guests.  Thank you current Underwriting Committee led by Michelle DiGaetano for working on this.

Timeline for efforts: 10/1/20 - 11/19/20

We will have a virtual raffle to raise funds for scholarships.  Looking into companies that can assist. Thank you Debbie Mabry for doing some research.

We will have a DONATE button added to our Facebook page.  Thank you to the Foundation Board for approving this.

We will sell a digital cookbook with 33 years of TOH recipes.  Thank you Julie Ruiz, Brenda Hill, Kay Callin, Pam Abernathy, and McKinley Thacker for typing all these recipes & Regina Phinney for scanning photos from our scrapbooks.

We will take pre-orders for a couple baked goods that can be picked-up or delivered on Thursday, November 19th (day of original event).  Thank you Sharon Schmidt and team for leading us with this process.

We will promote and advertise in as many mediums as we can to make this successful.  Thank you Janna Janes and the Communications Committee for leading this.

I appreciate you so much and look forward to seeing the fruit from our hard work!  Reach out to any of these key people to ask how you can get involved.

Community Awareness

We are beginning to work on projects to increase our communities awareness and knowledge about Altrusa. We want our family to grow from all ages! Please send us a small video about why YOU joined Altrusa. We would like to post this on our public page for others to see and tag and hopefully be inspired to join. Whether the inspiration comes from the camaraderie of the group or because of one another’s desire to volunteer, we want Altrusa’s name to be known!

Send the video to Ami Hooper at amijhooper@att.net

"All of us, at some time or other, need help.  Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world.  That's one of the things that connects us as neighbors - in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver".  Fred Rogers
