Please help us support Ralph Wilson Youth Club by volunteering to work their upcoming Clay Shoot.  We will be provided breakfast, lunch and a TShirt. Please register if you would like to assist with this project and we will then reach out to the volunteers to get your T-shirt sizes.

The Altrusans will be putting various spice items into bags for Helping Hands Ministry of Belton.  These bags will be placed in their food store for anyone who needs them.  If your schedule permits, would love to have you participate.

The Altrusan of the Year luncheon will be Tuesday, April 22nd at RWYC.  I know you will want to be present to see who receives this award.  RWYC staff will be preparing a fajita lunch for us.  The cost of the lunch is $25 per person.  You may pay me with cash or check at the next meeting or the day of the event.  Please register so we can get a good count for the meal.

Last 5th Tuesday of the Altrusa year & you don't want to miss it!  Join us at Oscar Store in Temple for a fun time of laughter with your fellow Altrusans.  We will provide appetizers, water, and tea.  You will just need to buy any alcoholic beverages or additional food.  Some may want to stay longer and have dinner... it's been known to happen.  Always a casual atmosphere.  See you there!

We invite you to come and find out ways you can make the most of being an Altrusan.  President Traci will share her thoughts on the year ahead and we will have time in small groups to brainstorm ideas for projects and visit with committee chairs & co-chairs. Chairs from each committee will explain their roles and have ways for you to get involved.  This is an informal time to visit and ask questions.  Heavy appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Directions: University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.  Main Street & 10th Ave. (Main Entrance with large sign).  Go to the UMHB letters on College Street, turn right and then right into the parking lot.  Parker Academic Center.  The Lord Conference Center is on the first floor behind the stairs when you walk in.

Hello my fellow Altrusans!

Our Camp Dreamcatcher Team is already busy!  Thanks to the dedication and the detailed organization of our amazing Debbie Fendrick, our registration process for Camp Dreamcatcher runs as smoothly as water running from a faucet!  We LOVE YOU DEBBIE!  We would like to go ahead and start assigning job positions for the morning of camper registration.  If you are new to Altrusa, this is an "all-hands on deck" project day. The day is very organized but extemely important to make sure campers and their families complete all the necessary paperwork, med checks, etc. prior to boarding the bus to head to camp.

If you are willing to be one of the leads on-site for registration, please send me a quick note. 

Once we see who is willing to work, Debbie will start communication with the group with specific duties.

We invite all Altrusans, friends and family to join us for our 5th Tuesday social at Treno's Pizzaria and Taproom, downtown Temple.  FREE parking is available in adjacent parking garage if needed.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase.  The side room has been reserved for our group.  

We will meet to assemble baskets filled with vital housekeeping supplies for His Hands and Feet, a part of Blessings Boutique.  Baskets will contain 22 essential items such as a hand mixer, laundry soap, dish soap and other basics that  recipients might need for a Fresh Start. Members will form an assembly line to complete 12 baskets.

Fun hands-on project!  We will meet at Helping Hands to assemble 750 "hygiene kits" to be used for Project Appletree recipients. Kits include a full sized bottle of shampoo, a full sized bar of soap, a washcloth, and a comb.

Project Apple Tree is a ministry of Helping Hands Ministry of Belton devoted to partnering with local families to prepare students for success in school and beyond.

Started by Jeannette Kelley, a retired educator and passionate advocate for children, Project Apple Tree began by providing school supplies, clothes, and shoes to local students to make sure every child in our community was prepared for a great first day of school and a successful school year. For more than 20 years, through the countless hours and resources of hundreds of volunteers, churches, local businesses, and community groups, Project Apple Tree has served thousands of Belton ISD students by helping their families have access to the supplemental resources students need to succeed in school.

As our community grows, Helping Hands Ministry is committed to making sure families have access to the tools and relationships they need to help their children thrive on the first day of school and year-round.

Books Across Bell County – Altrusa Service Opportunity!

Books Across Bell County, now in its 4^th year, is all about getting books into the hands—and hearts—of those who need them most.  We do this by partnering with organizations that have book shelves for the community to either borrow a book, or take a book, home for their personal at home library.  This year, we will have four book-labeling sessions, each held from 11:00 to 11:45 at Ralph Wilson Youth Club before the business meetings on:

• August 12
• October 14
• February 10
• May 12

Please plan to help us label and prepare books for distribution to community sites that have requested donations.  We also encourage members to bring books to donate—gently used or new—if you would like. It’s a fun and meaningful way to connect with fellow members and support literacy in our community.

All Altrusans and guests are invited to come out for a fun-filled night of BINGO!  We had many requests from members to do this social again and hope everyone can attend!  Many thanks to Susie Dawson for hosting this event at her home.  Dinner / snacks and drinks will be provided.

Our Hospice House is having a fundraiser and would like help with setup and dinner for 200 plus people.  10-12 people are needed each day.  The event is at Barge Ranch in Belton.  It will be outside in a tent and inside the house.

Friday, September 5th will begin at 10 am to setup tables, chairs and decorations.  You can come and go as needed but would like as many as possible to stay til the work is completed.

The Fundraiser is from 6-9 pm Saturday, September 6th. We would like half of the people to arrive at 3:30 and the other half can arrive at 5.  

We will help keep the buffet and drink tables filled.  We will also assist anyone that needs help with transporting plates and drinks to their table.  Also help clear tables during and after the event.

The event is western theme so we can dress casual.  It will still be hot this time of year so be prepared.

You are invited to participate in a Days for Girls Workday on Sept 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Belton from 9 am to 12 noon.  The entrance is at 205 E 3rd Ave, wth parking available across the street from the church.   Nonsewing tasks to be completed include:

• cut ribbon and put ribbons in bag
• install snaps in shields
• cut our waterproof shield pieces and mark sewing lines
• pin liner components
• trim and turn shields
• fold panties and washcloths
• quality control of components

If you can sew or serge, you are welcom to bring your machine, as there is always plenty to do.
