Greeters and Accents for Altrusa Meetings

Volunteers meet at Ralph Wilson Youth Club in the morning for the kickoff breakfast, then we immediately go to our assigned location to work. We do not yet know what our assignment will be, but last year we read to students at an elementary school.

It time to Stock the Promise Homes! Please join us as we fill these eight brand new homes will all the basic essentials for families as they work their way from homelessness to long term housing. We will meet at the Promise House at 9:30. If you have a larger vehicle and are able to assist with transporting everything, please meet at Kelli Alsup's house at 8:30. Please send Kelli a quick text or email letting her know you can help with transportation. 

Don't forget to wear your Altrusa t-shirt if you have one. This event is serving as our Make A Difference Day Project for this year.

We will meet  at Shannon Commons on the UMHB Campus (1601 Vickery Circle-Belton) at 6PM to pack the Operation Chistmas Child gift boxes. We wll have snacks to enjoy, so please join us for this fun project.

Help United Way prepare for the Annual Chrome & Carols fundraiser by helping decorate Christmas trees. Volunteers meet at the Mayborn Center anywhere between 11:00 am through 4:00 pm - come and go - and decorate trees. Trees and decorations are provided. 

Your help is needed to sell raffle tickets at Chrome and Carols. Volunteers meet at the Mayborn Center at 5:00 pm to get instructions, and the event begins at 6:00 pm and ends around 9:00 pm.

Friendly reminder that tomorrow night is Dillard's VIP Event where everyone receives 10% off their purchases.  If you plan on being there when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. please stop by the Lancome beauty counter.  We plan on having an Altrusan group photo with Angela (Angie).

Calling all bakers!  Join us for a fun Christmas Cookie Exchange.  Bring 2 dozen cookies and leave with 2 dozen assorted cookies.  You can also bring a few extra to share at the event.  We will provide hot cocoa & cider.

We are so fortunate to have our team already in place for the painting of the Zen Room that will take place on December 7th - Thank you Kennedi, Ray, Paula and Angela for stepping up to be our Picassos for the day.

We will be ready to put the finishing touches on our Zen Room Project at the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, December 13th.  We are in need of 5 members to assist with the set-up and decorating of the room.  Please register if you are able to assist.  

One more request was made for frozen casseroles to restock the freezer at RMHC - so please send me a quick message if you are willing to make a casserole and our team will coordinate pick-up and delivery.

All Altrusans, spouses and friends are invited to our annual Altrusa Christmas party on Dec. 16, 2025 at The Commonwealth in Temple,  6 - 8:30 pm.  Appetizers and cocktails during social hour, dinner buffet (beef & chicken fajitas) & all the trimmings with  beignet donuts & sauces for desserts.  We will have musical entertainment during dinner.  Cost is $40 per person and can be paid to Brenda Hill at all Altrusa meetings.  RSVP by December 8th please.

We hope everyone can join us for this wonderful holiday party to celebrate another year of wonderful friendships, fun and our club's many accomplishments in service!

Next phase of Dragoo - Work Day.  Meet at the Temple Children's Museum, to prepare and box up supplies for each of the ISDs we'll be serving.

Thanks to many of you who offered to help with Caring Ball on Friday 2/13. Since I did not have pen and paper ready to record your offer of help I am asking for you to sign up via this email.  We will be at the Mayborn Center all day from 8am until 10pm (but plan to be done before that time).   We will have many task to  complete and appreciate any help you can give that day.   Love and thanks to you all.

Join us for an interactive look at ClubRunner.  Bring your laptop (if you would like) and questions to ask.  We will have a mix of beginner and more advanced instruction.  No food or drinks will be served.  You are free to bring your own.

We would love to show our appreciation to Beverly Luedke for serving on the District Nine Board of Directors.  Join us for a reception at Julie Ruiz's home.  More details to follow.

Please join us for the Happy Bags project on Wednesday March 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm! We will meet at CTLC food pantry located at 702 W Ave G in Temple, 76504.  Teams will open shipping boxes, separate items into individual units, and stuff the bags.  Friends and family members are welcomed to come and enjoy the fun. Hope to see you there!

As a way to thank the Ralph Wilson Youth Club for all ways they support our club, we are excited to volunteer at their 2nd Annual Clay Shoot. We will need to arrive by 3:00pm to receive our instructions before the event begins at 3:30pm. We will be helping will many aspects such as registration, meal service, and helping at the shooting stations. Please sign up if you are able to attend. Our members who volunteered at last year's event had a great time! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mark your calendars for the last 5th Tuesday social of the Altrusa year and you don't want to miss it!  Join us at the Grand Avenue Theater in Belton for dinner and a movie / STEEL MAGNOLIAS party with your fellow Altrusans.  We have reserved the small theater just for our group, movie is free and will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Feel free to come early and purchase food or drinks from theater cafe as they have a full-service kitchen, Starbucks coffees, Blue Bell ice cream, pizza, popcorn, candy and many more items to purchase.  Feel free to dress like your favorite Steel Magnolias character especially if it's in Blush or Bashful colors (optional)!
