Ladies, We need people and vehicles to move all of the items in storage to the United Way building. They have offered us space free of charge. We will need to have everything moved by the end of May. I don't know how long it will acturally take to load and move everything but the more people and vehicles we have the faster it will go. If we don't get everything moved on this day I will look at another day to finish moving everything. We need people who can lift heavy totes. Happy Monday All!! We will be popping popcorn for 450 students at Hector P Garcia for their Gator Fest. We will also be stocking the Teachers lounge with snacks! Please let us know if you have time to assist us with either shopping and stocking or popping and bagging. 2-volunteers needed to shop anytime before 5/22 2 volunteers needed to stock the teachers lounge - 5/23 anytime between 9am-12pm 6 volunteers needed to pop and bag - 5/23 9am- 12:00pm The shopping for items will need to be done later this week or over the weekend so that we will be ready to go on Monday morning. This Wednesday morning, Altrusan's have been invited to attend the Little Library dedication at Jonathan Moore Homes (Central Texas Housing Consortium). The project was done in collaboration with Rotary and Central Texas Housing Consortium. The ceremony will be brief but any Altrusan interested is welcome to come to show our support of literacy alongside these other organizations. The ribbon cutting and dedication will be taking place at the playground on the corner of North 15th and West Barton. See attached map provided by the Housing Consortium and look for the "X" on the left side. Hope to see you there! |

Hello Altrusans! Project Chair, Carol White, has put together an awesome project to support the Pre-K kiddos at the Temple Housing Consortium. We'll meet at 11:00 @ Ralph Wilson Youth Club- (before tomorrow's Altrusa meeting)- and label books and package already bought items for the pre schoolers. 4) Accent subjects---Tara has given us permission to change topics for the Accent subjects. Instead of repeating info we've already heard, ex: World days, let's think of things that will help the knowledge of our club. Like what a project is. What does a particular committee do. How can one be part of TOH. What are book clubs.
5) I want to solicit suggestions and opinions about the membership notebooks that are given to each new member and to update everyone about ordering new name badges, the process.

Please consider being a Rockin Reader at Ralph Wilson Youth Club. Altrusa Temple has voluntered again to read two times a month (2nd and 4th Tuesday) throughout the school year. We will be reading a book selected by the RWYC in the Altrusa Library beginning at 4:15 pm. The overall process will take between 30-40 minutes. Please plan to arrive around 4 pm and you should be out no later than 4:40. The children thoroughly enjoy it.....almost as much as we do. Along with the book, there will be bookmarks that the ASTRA clubs have put together that can be given out to the children......and if you want to surprise them with a pencil, piece of candy etc., it is allowed. You may also wear a costume.

Join us in our efforts to Heal the Healing Garden! This is our major Make a Difference Day Project this year and we hope to have as much participation as possible. We will work to put new color into the garden at the McLane Children's Medical Center, set up Fall photo opportunities and do some general landscape enhancements for the children and their families to enjoy.
